\/>\n<\/span><\/h1>\n<h5>By Dr. Richard Cook<\/h5>\n<p>We are living in unprecedented times! \u00a0 Personally, I have been involved in ministry for fifty years and have never witnessed what we are going through today as a nation, or in the world.\u00a0 While we may not understand everything we are facing, we can take advantage of the time, rather than waste it.\u00a0 The Apostle Paul shared valuable information with the church in his letter to the Ephesian church when he said, \u201cSo be careful how you live.\u00a0 Don\u2019t live like fools, but like those who are wise.\u00a0 Make the most of every opportunity in these evil days.\u00a0 Don\u2019t act thoughtlessly, but understand what the Lord wants you to do\u201d (Eph. 5:15-17 NLT).\u00a0 The KJV translated v.16 as \u201cRedeeming the time, because the days are evil.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>We have been given time\u2026time\u2026<i>time <\/i>that we didn\u2019t have before.\u00a0 Time to spend in ways we never thought possible.\u00a0 Time to invest.\u00a0 Where?\u00a0 Where have we invested our time during this lockdown?\u00a0 Let\u2019s make some determinations that we will not allow this valuable time to be stolen by social media, binge watching TV, or other self-centered interests.\u00a0 What is the most valuable?\u00a0 What is the most rewarding?\u00a0 What is God saying to us at this time?\u00a0 He has given us time and He is asking us to \u201credeem\u201d that time, not for temporary gratification but for eternal purposes and the furtherance of His kingdom.\u00a0 So, where are we now in all of this?\u00a0 Let\u2019s review.\u00a0 Let\u2019s take time to write in our journals what we are discovering about ourselves and the journey from here to the \u201cnew normal.\u201d\u00a0 Let\u2019s ask ourselves:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>\u00a0Are we ready for change?\u00a0 Did this time of pause show us anything about the need for change?\u00a0 Did we discover something about ourselves, our family, our ministry?\u00a0 Our career?\u00a0 Our spirituality?\u00a0 What are those things?<\/li>\n<li>Did we spend this time to invest, develop and strengthen family and ministry relationships?<\/li>\n<li>Did we take time to pursue the God who pursues us?\u00a0 Have we found Him to be more precious than anyone, anything, any achievement or identity?\u00a0 Have we put Him in first place?<\/li>\n<li>Have we taken time to refresh our physical bodies?\u00a0 How long has it been since we honored the Sabbath Day by resting from all our work?<\/li>\n<li>What about the projects that we\u2019ve delayed?\u00a0 Or the necessary chores that we had no time for?<\/li>\n<li>Have we put an end to unhealthy habits and developed healthy ones with the Holy Spirit\u2019s help?<\/li>\n<li>Did we use this time to develop accountability systems for our lives?<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>As the book of Proverbs instructs, Wisdom is calling to us to put away things that drag us down, that weaken us spiritually, physically and emotionally; to embrace Wisdom and run from foolishness, foolish people, and foolish living.\u00a0 Once again, the question before us is, \u201cAre we ready for change?\u201d\u00a0 If not, we will not be ready for where Wisdom is leading us and what God has in store for us.\u00a0 There is so much to gain and, yet, so much to lose.\u00a0 Be a seeker of Wisdom and Understanding.\u00a0 May we allow the reverent fear of God guide us into the future, resulting in a life well lived!<\/p>\n<\/div><\/section><br \/>\n<div  class='av-social-sharing-box av-45lwjr-a7c17c29131f64223ea926453db65cb5
